Titicaca 2002 Expedition

Document last update:

"Then, after the Flood, in the Titicaca Lake appeared again the creator of a new world, Viracocha, who created a new race of men as tall as himself and ordered the sun, the moon and the stars to shine day and night"

This is the tradition in which Viracocha who was in the depths of the lake came up turning the oriental part into the sacred place of the creation. In this strange way of thinking, almost like a spiritual geography, Viracocha built this strange city just after the creation.

In this geographic area AKAKOR GEOGRAPHICAL EXPLORING Society will realize the second part of the Project Atahuallpa comprising a scientific expedition called TITICACA 2002.

INTRODUCTION

The old concept of exploration from the last centuries now at the beginning of the third millennium assumes a new and global approach that encompasses the necessity of a depth analysis coming from a multidisciplinary teamwork.

There are still a lot to discovery. In the most remote areas of the world still exist unexplored places which keep uncountable secrets and offer the opportunity to realize scientific studies involving multidisciplinary activities with the possibility of writing new pages of the human history.

PROGRAM

The Expedition Titicaca 2002 takes as its start point the former experiences and following the same line proposes a technical and cultural exchange among different countries and cultures comprising the Bolivian authorities.

To realize this project becomes necessary the geological, archaeological e hidrogeological co-operation as followed:

During the expedition will be realized:

The activities were chosen taking in account not only the experiences and the data collected in the last expeditions, but also the territorial difficulties such as accessibility, vastness, mobility and problems related to diving in high altitudes.

After this, it will be planned all the activities to be developed in the second part according to its priority. The groups will be chosen by us and then will work first separately and then together following a determinate program. Finally the whole group and the local entities will all be together in order to fulfil the idea of a global construction and interaction.

Following it will be set the priorities and the work-team that will operate first separately then altogether including the local authorities and entities.
